The $900 billion stimulus package passed by Congress this week would provide a critical extension for New Hampshire families relying on unemployment insurance, a state official said.
But if President Trump opts not to sign it or chooses to delay his signature until certain aspects are changed, those families faced a Saturday cut-off for unemployment benefits.

U.S. Representative Davis Target Of IDES Fraud
U.S. Representative Rodney Davis says he is the target of fraud through the Illinois Department of Employment Security. Davis said in a tweet Monday night that he received a letter saying someone was trying to fraudulently apply for unemployment using his name. Davis says he received a response from IDES regarding his inquiry into the matter, but didn’t reveal if the issue had been resolved. He also exchanged contentious tweets with the department, with IDES appealing to him to push for congressional action to protect Illinois unemployment benefits.
