Dec. 24 Officials have identified a teenage girl who died when the car she was riding in sheared a power pole in Tacoma, flipped and caught fire.
Hannah Elizabeth Lindemeier, 16, of Kent, died of blunt head trauma, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner s Office.
She was one of four teens in the car when it crashed about 1:15 a.m. Sunday in the 4400 block of Marine View Drive.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, is suspected of driving under the influence of marijuana and speeding. He sustained minor injuries and has since been released from the hospital.

Dec. 23 A pedestrian hit and killed by a car while crossing state Route 16 in Gig Harbor earlier this month has been identified.
Rick Joseph Abraham, 62, of Port Orchard, died of multiple blunt impact injuries, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner s Office.
He died Dec. 10 after being struck by a van.
Abraham was walking east on the shoulder of Route 16 s on-ramp from Burnham Drive when he crossed the lanes and was hit, the Washington State Patrol said.

Dec. 17 The death of a man in a Tacoma parking lot three months ago was ruled a homicide this week, police said.
About 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, a passerby flagged down a police officer to report finding a man who was unresponsive. The man, later identified as 59-year-old Richard Piel, was found in a parking lot on Puyallup Avenue underneath the Interstate 705 overpass.
Although both the passerby and officer performed CPR on Piel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man shot to death at a Tacoma homeless encampment has been identified.
Patrick Nathan Shenaurlt, 38, of Parkland, died Dec. 3 of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
He was killed confronting two men who came to the camp at Sixth Avenue and South M Street to confront an unhoused person about a theft and began hitting tents with a large board.
Two women inside one of the tents were injured - one suffered a concussion and the other sustained a broken arm.
