Trigg County magistrates approved the first reading of an ordinance that would lower the speed limit of North Tanyard Road.
County Attorney Randy Braboy read the ordinance Monday night that features lowering the speed limit to 35 MPH.
Trigg County Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander shared a list of expenditures during the recent Trigg County Fiscal Court meeting that included $10,000 in ambulance grant funding for Trigg County Hospital, $18,825 to Christian County for boarding inmates, $9,250 to Pennyrile Allied Community Services for the Trigg County Senior Citizens Center and a payment of $59,461.25 to the Pennyrile District Health Department.
The meeting on Jan. 19 took place a day after the Martin Luther King Jr., holiday, with magistrates meeting at their regular meeting location in the fiscal courtroom at the Trigg County Courthouse.
Alexander noted that the expenditures, totaling $227,858.75, were up quite a bit, but he pointed out that the total included a lot of quarterly payments, like that to the health department, for example.

The lawsuit was filed against former Trigg County Sheriff Jason Barnes, three members of his department, a former Cadiz Police Officer, the Trigg County Fiscal Court, the Trigg County Board of Education, and the director of personal and student services for the Trigg County School system.Â
The 16-page lawsuit says the girl was a 17-year-old high school student when she was accepted into an full-time internship program with the Trigg County Sheriff s Department and that she worked directly under Barnes, Michael Parker, Major Jimmy Godair, and Jeff Arena.
