ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Project for Pakistan and Uzbekistan transit trade and export goods to Pakistan through the territory of Afghanistan launched on Tuesday in Islamabad.
According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Commerce, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan together with Pakistani transport company “Best Trans Pvt. Ltd.” and Uzbek freight forwarding company “Asad Trans” for the first time implemented pilot trans-Afghan logistics project for the direct delivery of Uzbek export goods to Pakistan through the territory of Afghanistan.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan, together with the Pakistani transport company ‘Best Trans Pvt. Ltd.’ and the Uzbek freight forwarding company ‘Asad Trans’, has implemented the first pilot trans-Afghan logistics project for the direct delivery of Uzbek export goods to Pakistan via Afghanistan.
As the joint action of the embassy with the support of the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan, the partners of Asad Trans and Best Trans Pvt. Ltd. began working on a project for the direct delivery (via Afghanistan) of Uzbek goods to Pakistani cities in January 2021 according to the ‘supplier’s warehouse importer’s warehouse’ scheme.

Uzbekistan is closing its diplomatic office in Athens, Greece, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Kabuljanov said at a briefing.
“The government of Uzbekistan has decided to close its Consulate General in Athens and establish an embassy in the Kingdom of Sweden,” Kabuljanov said.
According to him, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a relevant resolution in April this year.
“In order to maintain permanent political, diplomatic and trade-economic ties with Greece, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy will oversee the issues of cooperation with this country,” the official representative of the Foreign Ministry concluded.
