DARIEN, IL An Illinois state trooper received threats from a man he was arresting on a DUI charge over the weekend in Darien, prosecutors said Monday.
Late Saturday night, the state trooper was called to help a driver on the Darien side of Interstate 55. The driver, later identified as Christopher Brown, 28, of Chicago, had bloodshot, glassy eyes, according to a news release from the DuPage County State s Attorney s Office.
When Brown failed field sobriety tests, the trooper placed him under arrest. According to a police report, Brown threatened to beat the officer. He also told the trooper, I m gonna bond out, I m gonna get bond. You ll see and that he would go to the trooper s house, police said.
