According to Michigan Works staff members, fewer women are seeking employment during the coronavirus pandemic for reasons beyond basic concern over contracting the virus. “What we’ve already seen statewide is that 150,000 women have left the workplace,” said Jody Kerbyson, CEO of Genessee-Shiawassee-Thumb Michigan Works. “They’ve done that because they’re trying to take care of their family.”
