The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is currently looking for a missing teenage girl from our area.
According to the TAPD Facebook page, Tanshanaya Kiaira Willis, 16, went missing on January 27. She left with an unknown person she met online and that person was planning on going to Alabama. Her cell phone went dead in Greenville, Mississippi. It’s possible the girl is in the Greenville or Jackson areas.

Willis goes by the nicknames “Shay” and “Nayla” and is 5′ 5″ tall, weighing about 120 lbs. She has brown eyes and multi-colored hair in box braids. Anyone with information should call Detective Berry at 903-798-3130 or dial 911.

th grade staff and students, Monday, March 8, will be the first day of classes in the new Arkansas Middle School. The new school is located at 5443 Jefferson Ave. Community members who travel that area may be familiar with the two lane road. However, this week the city is re-stripping Jefferson in front of the new school. The new stripping will include the addition of a turning lane which should ease the flow traffic during arrival and dismissal times. The bell schedule will remain the same; classes begin and end at 8:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., respectively.
North and south-bound traffic will enter the front of the school by turning into the driveway located on the north side of the campus. The driveway located on the south side of the campus will be the exit. In an effort to ease the flow of traffic,
