Philip Toner, 41, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 35-year-old Brenda Ware.
RCMP confirmed a 41-year-old man has been charged following the recent discovery of a body east of Radium, B.C.
Philip Toner, who was arrested Tuesday in the Okanagan, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 35-year-old Brenda Ware.
The body of Ware, who lived near the Alberta towns of Sundre and Cremona, was located near her vehicle on May 6, 2021, approximately 50 kilometres east of Radium along Highway 93 in Kootenay National Park.
Ware has gone missing earlier this month.

“If Philip hears, or sees this call for information, we ask him to contact the police of jurisdiction,” says Supt. Wijayakoon.
Anyone who may encounter Toner, should not approach and immediately call 9-1-1.
BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit is looking for information from anyone who saw Brenda Ware from May 4, 2021 to May 6, 2021 or her vehicle a red 2019 Jeep Cherokee Alberta Licence Plate YPC553.

In a media release Saturday, the BC RCMP said the Southeast District Major Crime Unit is asking for the public s help after a 35-year-old woman was located deceased on May 6, 2021 in the southeastern part of the province.

BC RCMP Major Crime announced this morning that the Southeast District Major Crime Unit has secured criminal charges against Philip Toner in connection to the death of Brenda Ware, whose body was discovered in Kootenay National Park on Thursday, May 6.
Police can now confirm that Philip Toner, 41, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder in relation to the homicide of 35-year-old Brenda Ware.
Philip Toner, who was located by the Lake Country RCMP yesterday, appeared in Kelowna Provincial Law Courts this morning where the BC Prosecution Service secured a seven-day remand, in order to have Toner transported back to Alberta.
