Date Time Police van damaged, Surfers Paradise A man has been charged after a police vehicle was struck by a car in Surfers Paradise overnight. It will be alleged a stolen 2004 Honda Accord was seen by patrolling officers driving dangerously in a hotel car park on Fern Street. A tyre deflation device was strategically placed which the sedan drove over when the driver sighted police. The vehicle has continued on four deflated tyres and ran into the side of a marked van at the top of an exit ramp. The male driver of the Honda was arrested nearby on the Gold Coast Highway.
