Public officials are urging Bennington County residents to continue to take preventative steps to avoid contracting or spreading the novel coronavirus as the number of new cases in the region remains higher than in most other parts of the state.
Over the past two weeks, 153 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Bennington County â a total that is second only to the more populous Chittenden County, which has seen 487 cases during the same time period, according to an online dashboard maintained by the Vermont Department of Health updated Monday morning.
Neighboring Rutland, Windsor and Windham counties have seen 102, 79 and 101 new cases, respectively, within the same window.
