Voices: Celebrating the Beauty and Diversity of America’s Literary Landscape will offer its fourth round of author readings on Thursday, April 22, at 8 p.m. The virtual gathering is hosted by the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and is designed to celebrate the richness of human lives and stories. Ambucs to host blood screening May 1
The Ambucs Blood Screening Program will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. May 1 at the Blair County Convention Center, Altoona.
Register today and get a 36-test blood screening for $55. Optional tests are available for an additional cost. A 12-hour fast is required for the testing. Masks and social distancing are requested.
This annual event is open to the public. Reserve your space by calling 814-889-4222.
Proceeds from the blood screening event will benefit Ambucs to further support local programs and services in the community.
The Altoona Chapter of Ambucs is a fun, energetic group helping children, teens and adults with disabilities. It serves the community by providing therapeutic AmTrykes, educational scholarships for physical therapists and residential ramp building.

on May 15.
The Preakness Gala promises to be a grand, sophisticated, and entertaining evening scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m. May 15 at the Winsome

391 Tel Power Road, Hollidaysburg.

Once again, the gala committee and SAMA staff have planned a fabulous evening to include outdoor vistas, as well as indoor fun.

“Monday Night Magic: Live Online” will be held every Monday at 8 p.m. as a co-presentation with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Liberty Magic Series. “Monday Night Magic” is New York’s longest running off-Broadway magic show.
