A housebuilding plan for South Oxfordshire has been adopted. A PLAN to build thousands of new homes in South Oxfordshire has been adopted. The Local Plan had been delayed for more than a year due to an argument between South Oxfordshire District Council and the Government in London. The Green-Lib Dem run council had wanted to scrap it and write up a new plan, contesting that too many homes were proposed in the plan, many of which are on Green Belt land, which is meant to be preserved countryside. But the Government ordered the council to pass the plan by the end of 2020.
