SAU Helps Those in Need With Traditional Holiday Events
It s been a crazy and challenging year with the pandemic and with the Christmas season cupon us, Southern Arkansas University continues to serve their area with holiday traditions by reaching out to the ones in most need in the area.
According to a press release it all started in November for the 20th year with the Annual Residence Hall Association Turkey Dinner provided a traditional Thanksgiving meal, including turkey and all the trimmings. SAU Housing partners each year with the Stew Pot, which is sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of Magnolia, to host the event. This year, about 350 Columbia County residents picked up meals. Sandra Martin, director of SAU Housing, said the event observed all COVID-19 safety protocols.
