A dramatic rescue took place after the badger was discovered by the RSPCA in Essex. Inspector Chloe Frost had her work cut out trying to free the badger who was stuck in the pit on Sunday. He had been spotted by a concerned member of the public in Danbury Common and they then reported the incident to the RSPCA. Ms Frost said: “It was a real struggle to get him out. “First I used my grasper pole to ensure that the badger wasn’t tangled in any of the barbed wire, then once I was sure he was clear I used the pole to carefully lift him out.
