XENIA Greene County Prosecutor’s Office Investigator Fred E. Meadows was sworn in as a member of the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) Task Force Thursday.
SOFAST is a multi-jurisdictional U.S. Marshals Service-led task force consisting of local, state, and federal authorities which seeks fugitives from justice with active, violent felony warrants.
“Protecting the citizens of Greene County is the number one priority of this office,” Greene County Prosecutor David D. Hayes said. “Membership with this task force helps make that happen by combining federal and state resources to track down and apprehend the most dangerous fugitives.”

LANCASTER, Ohio A man is accused of starting a fire at the Fraternal Order of Police lodge in Lancaster, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Kenneth Dawson is accused of starting the fire to the building, in the 300 block of South High Street, on Feb. 27.
He is charged with arson, retaliation, possession of criminal tools and unlawful possession of a dangerous ordinance.
The U.S. Marshals Service said Dawson was arrested Thursday in Mason, Ohio, in Warren County, by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team.
Dawson is in custody at the Fairfield County Jail.

LANCASTER – The suspect in the February fire at the FOP Lodge on South High Street was taken into custody in Mason on Thursday by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team.
Kenneth Dawson, 34, of Lancaster, has been charged arson, retaliation, possessing criminal tools, and unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance in Fairfield Common Pleas Court, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshal s Office.
The charges stem from an arson occurring on Feb. 27, where Dawson allegedly started a fire at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #50, located at 351 S High St in Lancaster. Prior to the arson incident, Dawson was arrested and released by a law enforcement agency for operating a vehicle impaired.

COVINGTON, Ga. A Covington man recently was arrested and was being held for Ohio police after being suspected of exchanging gunfire with another man inside a Columbus, Ohio-area shopping mall in early March and fleeing to Georgia.
Anthony Deshawn Truss was arrested April 7 in Covington while the person with which he allegedly exchanged gunfire, Levon Sommerville, was arrested in Tucker in DeKalb County April 12, said U.S. Marshal Peter Tobin.
Truss, 21, of Pleasant Hills Court in Covington, was being held without bond in the Newton County Detention Center today, according to information from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.
