The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, on Wednesday, swore in Hon Chimaobi Ebisike of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Hon Ebisike, replaced late Hon Prestige Ossy, member representing Aba South/North Federal Constituency of Abia State on the platform of All Grand Progressive Alliance (APGA).
The swearing-in ceremony was performed after the adoption of a motion sponsored by the House Leader, Hon Alhassan Ado who urged the House to “admit into the Chamber to witness the Swearing-in Ceremony of Member – Elect, Aba North/South Federal Constituency of Abia State Mr Chimaobi Ebisike” pursuant to Order 21, Rule 8(1 and 2) of the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Femi Gbajabiamila’s efforts at ensuring that Nigeria gets a legal framework for climate change has taken off to a great start as members of the Joint House of Representatives, Ministries of Justice and Environment Committees review the climate change bill began deliberations, on Monday.
In his opening remarks at the event which held at Reiz Continental Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria, the coordinator of the joint committee, sponsor of the Bill, and member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency, Rep. Sam Onuigbo, thanked the speaker for nominating him to coordinate the committee.

THE member representing Afikpo North/South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Iduma Igariwey, has slammed N100m suit against the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company for refusing to provide power in his community.
The PUNCH reports that there had been total blackout in the constituency, especially Afikpo since over five years now.
The lawmaker said he spent millions of naira on diesel to be powering his electricity generating plant following the absence of power supply in the constituency by the EEDC, adding that he had gathered all the receipts for the diesel which he would tender before the court as exhibit.

The lawmaker representing Lere Federal Constituency in Kaduna State at the House of Representatives, Mr Suleiman Aliyu, died on Tuesday.
He was aged 53.
Aliyu was said to have died on Tuesday afternoon at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna State.
An aide to the deceased, Tukur Abdul-Azeez, who spoke to our correspondent on the telephone, said, “Yes, he passed away this morning. He had been suffering from typhoid and fever.”
Aliyu’s death made it the sixth member of the House to have died since the 9th National Assembly was inaugurated on June 11, 2019.
Aliyu’s death occurred five days after the lawmaker representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency in Plateau State, Haruna Maitala, died.
