Seoul denies offering to build nuclear plant in North Korea 2 minutes read Seoul, Feb 3 (efe-epa).- South Korean Unification Minister Lee In-young said Wednesday that Pyongyang was never asked to build a nuclear plant on its territory as a disarmament incentive after Seoul recently published a 2018 draft of this hypothetical plan. “The Unification Ministry is in charge of inter-Korean relations and we have never discussed the construction of a plant in [North Korea],” Lee said at a press conference held at the Seoul Correspondents Club. The southern Energy Ministry published Monday a six-page draft from 2018 with a hypothetical plan to build a reactor to supply power to the neighboring country, considering North Korea’s South Hamgyong province as the first choice for its location.
