That’s as of this past Thursday, according to the latest information available on the South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD) website. The district reported that one new case has been confirmed here during the past few days, bring-ing Dawson County’s total COVID case count to 1,716 since March of last year. No new deaths from COVID-19 have been reported here in almost a month. The death toll reported by the Texas Department of State Health Services remains at 68, while SPPHD continues to report 34 deaths here. Fatality .

To give out second doses, the Crosby County Pioneer Memorial Museum has been transformed into a vaccine clinic for the weekend. Why the museum? Because the museum s auditorium is the largest room in Crosbyton. Debra Miller is the administrator at the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. The two-bed hospital received about 1,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine for the first time last month.
