Drivers who use E-ZPass on New Jersey’s major toll roads should be able to get electronic notifications each time their account is charged, say lawmakers now trying to make that happen.
Their effort comes as highway tolls have increased in recent months and as toll-road operators have indicated a desire to expand cashless tolling.
Under current law, New Jersey’s E-ZPass system gives motorists the option of viewing a list of their latest toll transactions online. They can also receive monthly or bimonthly statements, via email or letter.

NEW JERSEY - Governor Phil Murphy announced that New Jersey will enter a state of emergency beginning Sunday at 7 p.m. in response to the Nor easter.
It is anticipated that snow accumulation for the storm, which beganSunday afternoon, may cause hazardous conditions may continue through Tuesday morning.
Executive Order No. 218 declares a state of emergency across all 21 counties in New Jersey, allowing resources to be deployed throughout the state during the duration of the storm.
As such, all state offices will be closed Monday; however, this does not include weather-essential employees. It is advised that private companies and businesses dismiss their employees at their own discretion.

NEW JERSEY At least 19 inches have fallen since Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency for a nor easter that s expected to produce up to 24 inches of snow, impacting the Garden State on Monday and well into Tuesday. He s also closed several COVID vaccination sites, suspended trains and buses and imposed highway restrictions.
