County Sheriff A Tri-State cab driver reported at 5:32 a.m. Sunday she had transported a woman to a home on Waterford Road, Unity Township, and when they arrived the woman got out of the cab and did not pay her. Deputies spoke to the woman, who then paid the driver. Deputies and highway patrol troopers responded to a Georgetown Road, Knox Township, where a domestic dispute was reported. Both people involved claimed they had only been arguing and there was no domestic violence. The woman signed a refusal to prosecute and the man was given a ride to Minerva. A possible fight was reported in the area of Washington Street and Jackson Alley in Washingtonville at 1:08 a.m., April 24. Two intoxicated women told deputies they had been outside and yelling. They were told to stay inside for the rest of the night.

A man was rescued by firefighters Monday afternoon as he hung from the window of a burning two-flat in the West Pullman neighborhood.

Crews entered the home and pulled the dangling man back inside the second-floor window, he said. The man was removed from the home and underwent evaluation.
