Hungary s Baths and Hotels Willing to Reopen Despite Third Wave

The third wave of the coronavirus is rampaging through Hungary, yet hotels and wellness spas are already planning their reopening within the coming weeks. The head of the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (MSZÉSZ) has even said that hotels could begin accepting vaccinated visitors any day now. Saliris Resort is planning an April reopening, inviting guests to meet public influencers such as singer Ádám Szabó and various Dancing with the Stars performers for what they advertise as a weekend wellness party, reports liberal 444.hu. In response to a Facebook question of the hotel’s advertised reopening, Saliris Resort responded that “as long as the emergency restrictions are not extended, we will hold the event in accordance with current rules, but if the pandemic situation does not allow it, we will reschedule to a later date.”

With Mass Vaccination, Coronavirus Can No Longer Win – Interview with Chief Infectologist János Szlávik

“With Mass Vaccination, Coronavirus Can No Longer Win” – Interview with Chief Infectologist János Szlávik –  We sat down to discuss the rollout of coronavirus vaccines in Hungary, vaccination in general, and the race against the virus’s evolution, with South Pest Hospital Centre’s chief infectologist, János Szlávik. Let us jump a couple of months forward in time. It’s May 1st, 2021. Realistically, how many Hungarians will have been vaccinated by then? By May, I really hope that around 4 million people will be vaccinated. However, it does not primarily depend on Hungary. We cannot say whether the vaccines will arrive on time, so we cannot predict anything. I originally hoped that we would be finished with vaccinations by the beginning of summer, but at the moment it seems like we will finish by early autumn instead.

Semmelweis Rector Makes Statement by Receiving Sputnik V Vaccine; Which Will Politicians and Experts Choose?

Semmelweis Rector Makes Statement by Receiving Sputnik V Vaccine; Which Will Politicians and Experts Choose? The rector of Semmelweis University received his first coronavirus vaccination on Thursday. Instead of a western vaccine, he chose the Russian Sputnik V, which clearly sends a message. Meanwhile, the debate over the Eastern, and especially the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine continues. The Orbán government and some experts are trying to convince people that they have nothing to fear, while many do not consider the Chinese manufacturer’s product transparent enough to be considered safe. Three months after his recovery from Covid-19, Béla Merkely, the rector of Semmelweis University, has received his first jab against the virus.
