Man, 27, killed in West Englewood shooting

West Englewood on the South Side, police said.
The 27-year-old was on the sidewalk about 9:20 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Marshfield Avenue when someone fired shots at him from a white sedan, Chicago police said.
The man was struck in the head and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released.
Area One detectives are investigating.
A woman who lives on the block said she was working on fixing a light in her home when she heard at least 20 loud pops. She thought they were fireworks.

CHICAGO - Four people were killed 11 other wounded in shootings across Chicago since Friday night.
In the most recent fatal attack, a man was killed and another wounded in a shooting early Saturday in Austin on the West Side.
Officers found a man unresponsive about 1:30 a.m. with gunshot wounds on the head and chest in the 1300 block of North Mayfield Avenue, Chicago police said. He was pronounced dead the scene. He hasn’t been identified, according to police.
Another man, 26, was also hurt in the shooting, police said.

A 22-year-old man is facing charges nearly three years after allegedly shooting and robbing another man in West Englewood on the South Side.
Derieon Thomas was arrested Sunday after he was identified as the person who allegedly shot a 29-year-old man August 3, 2018, in the 5500 block of South Marshfield Avenue, Chicago police said.
That day, Thomas allegedly fired shots at the man and struck him in the hip, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition at the time.
Thomas was charged with one felony count each of armed robbery and aggravated battery, police said.
