Coronavirus in Fermanagh and Omagh: 12 new cases

Covid-19 positive testing figures continue to fluctuate in Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area.  Today the Department of Health reported 12 new cases of the virus with seven cases being reported yesterday (Wednesday). The data from the Department of Health revealed there were no deaths recorded locally again. It means the death toll remains at 85 while positive cases have now reached 5,865 with Fermanagh and Omagh being the least affected area in Northern Ireland. Across Northern Ireland 120  people tested positive and there were three further deaths. 119,471 people have now tested positive for the virus and the death toll has reached 2,137. Fermanagh and Omagh was the least affected area for rate per 100,000 people for many weeks but now is forth on the list of most affected local government districts behind Derry City and Strabane, Mid Ulster and Newry, Mourne and Down.

37 year old refused bail following weekend incident A Kesh man has been remanded in custody after he was charged with driving and public order offences. Neill Armstrong (37), of Ardess Demesne, Kesh, faces causing GBI by dangerous driving, attempted GBH, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, namely a Stanley Knife, driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle without insurance in relation to an incident on April 17, 2021. An officer told the court they could connect the accused to the charges and were objecting to bail. On April 17 at around 12.30pm police received a request for assistance in Ederney.
