A man has been charged following a nine-hour stand-off with police in Sydney’s south-west.
The incident began about 9.45pm yesterday (Sunday 16 May 2021), when police were called to a home on Torrens Street, Canley Heights, after reports of a domestic-related incident.
Upon arrival, officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command and South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad spoke to a 36-year-old man before attempting to taser him.
Police will allege the man fired a shot at officers and a perimeter was established.
Specialist police, including negotiators and the Tactical Operations Unit, worked with officers from Fairfield City PAC to resolve the incident and, just after 6.30am today (Monday 17 May 2021), the man left the garage without incident and was arrested.
