A FAMILY of five and two other people were injured after a head-on crash on a busy road near Romsey this week. Two adults and three children in a car, and a man travelling with a woman in a van, collided on the A3090 at East Wellow, South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) confirmed. Five ambulances, the Hazardous Areas Response Team and a rapid response vehicle were alerted to the crash at 7.15pm on Tuesday. The two adults in the car had more serious injuries and were freed by firefighters from Romsey and Redbridge. The children, and the man and the woman in the van, had minor injuries.
SEVEN people were injured after a two-vehicle crash on a busy main road near Romsey last night. Firefighters from Romsey and Redbridge were alerted to the crash at 7.20pm in Romsey Road, Ower, and crews helped two trapped people from a vehicle at the scene. A spokesperson from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed there were seven casualties in total. They added South Central Ambulance Service cared for the casualties before they were taken to hospital. Firefighters made the scene safe and the stop message came in at 8.13pm. Hampshire police confirmed the road was closed while the two vehicles were cleared, adding enquiries into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing.

Cars stuck in the snow on the A303. Andrew Matthews/PA Wire Londoners have been warned to expect widespread sub-zero temperatures and icy, treacherous conditions caused by Sunday s snowfall. The Met Office said the mercury could dip between minus 4C (24.8F) and minus 6C (21.2F) going into Monday, with parts of the Midlands told to brace for minus 10C (14F). An amber weather warning for snow is in place covering an area from Nottingham to Stoke-on-Trent, meaning travel disruption and power cuts are likely. There is also a risk that some rural communities could be cut off. In the capital, sunny weather is expected to peak at minus 2C later tonight (January 25).
