The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says an Elkhart, Indiana man is dead after a three-snowmobile wreck Saturday night in Silver Creek Township. He has been identified as 45-year-old Keith Webster and he was westbound on a trail when he collided with two eastbound sleds. Those were driven by 21-year-old Robert Schroeder of Coloma and 38-year-old Andrew Mayer of Covert. Schroeder is at South Bend Memorial Hospital and Mayer is at Spectrum Health Lakeland in St. Joseph. Webster was pronounced dead at the scene. All three wore helmets, but speed is likely a factor.
