The accident occurred in the jurisdiction of Hassanabdal police station.
According to the injured victims, the family was on their way back to Jalloo village. The deceased were identified as Mussarat Bibi, Jameela Bibi, Rukhsana Bibi, Zainab Bibi and her eight-month-old daughter Marwa.
Upon receiving information about the accident, rescue officials reached the spot and shifted the deceased and injured to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital from where a woman and her two children were taken to Rawalpindi due to their critical condition.
Hassanabdal police have registered a case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, 10 people were injured when a passenger van they were travelling in fell into a water channel in the jurisdiction of Jand police station.
Over Rs20m power saving project installed at LGH

LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Energy Dr Akhtar Malik inaugurated completed Naya Punjab Retrofitting Project in Lahore General Hospital (LGH) here Tuesday.
“The project cost is Rs20.622 million and it will save annual electricity of worth Rs17.04 million. Around 5,061 lights and 1,305 fans have been retrofitted with energy efficient appliances,” the minister said while inaugurating the Electricity Saving Programme at the hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Akhtar Malik said that there were over 95,000 public connections and the Punjab government was paying a whopping Rs37 billion as electricity bill. He said his target was to convert all public sector connections to solar to lower the financial burden on public exchequer. NCOC holds Special Session on COVID-19 Vaccine Strategy

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Thursday held a special session on COVID-19 vaccine availability and efficient administration to mull over the National Vaccine Strategy being devised to amicably ensure the immunization process.
The NCOC meeting discussed the epidemic curve chart data and the National Vaccine Strategy.

RAWALPINDI: Acting on the directives of the Punjab government, the district administration on Wednesday imposed lockdown in 19 localities of Rawalpindi district, including 16 in the garrison city, till Dec 21 following an increase in the number of Covid-19 patients in the last two weeks.
According to figures released by the administrations of the twin cities, eight deaths were reported in Rawalpindi and Islamabad and 468 new cases surfaced on Wednesday.
Dhoke Najju, Khayaban-i-Sir Syed Sector 3, Waris Khan, Eidgah Mohallah Asghar Mall and Chaklala Scheme-3 were sealed while streets in different areas had been closed including streets 3 and 4 in Gulistan Colony, Street 16 in Asif Colony Qasimabad, streets in Pindora, Street 12 in Daryabad Gawalmandi, streets 11 and 16 in Gulraiz Housing Scheme Phase 2, Street No. 17 Airport
