New Delhi: Local telecom gear makers body TEMA on Friday sought review of the government s decision to exempt existing deals from the security directive on telecom infrastructure. The Union Cabinet earlier this week cleared a proposal to secure telecom infrastructure by designating trusted source for the purchase of equipment by service providers.

New Delhi: Domestic telecom gear makers body TEMA on Friday said it has appointed former telecom and IT secretary Rentala Chandrashekhar as the Chairman of TEMA Council on Digital Empowerment. Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association of India (TEMA) represents Indian companies engaged in manufacturing of telecom gears. TEMA is pleased to announce that Shri R Chandrashekhar, Former Secretary, Department of Telecommunication and Department of Electronics and IT is appointed as the first Chairman of TEMA Council on Digital Empowerment, TEMA said in a statement.

The Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association of India (TEMA), the oldest telecom body in the country, has appointed R Chandrashekhar, former secretary, Department of Telecommunication and Department of Electronics and IT, as the Chairman of TEMA Council on Digital Empowerment.
Chandrashekhar is also a former president of the National Association of Software and Service Companies, a trade association of Indian IT and Business Process Outsourcing companies. He is currently Chairman, Centre for the Digital Future.
