Telecom Secretary Anshu Prakash said 855.60 MHz of spectrum was bought for Rs 77,814.80 cr in the two-day auction. Reliance Jio bought Rs 57,122.65 crore worth of spectrum while Vodafone Idea Ltd picked Rs 1,993.40 crore worth of airwaves. Bids were received in 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2300 MHz bands but there were no takers for the airwaves in the premium 700 and 2500 MHz bands.

Bharti Airtel on Tuesday said it has acquired 355.45 Megahertz (MHz) of airwaves for Rs 18,699 crore in the telecom spectrum auction conducted by the government.
The newly acquired airwaves give Airtel the most formidable spectrum holdings in the country and will help improve its coverage in villages by offering a superior experience to an additional 90 million customers in India, the company said in a release.

The Indian government reaped a record ₹77,000 crore on the first day of 2021 telecom spectrum auctions.
There are two positives for the government – its strike rate has drastically improved, and the value sold so far is the second highest in spectrum auctions so far.
However, the total sales are still a lot lower than what the government would have wanted.

A total of 2,308.80 MHz spectrum in seven frequency bands was put to auction, including spectrum expiring up to December, 2021.
The government sold airwaves worth Rs 77,814.80 crore in the spectrum auction, with Reliance Jio emerging as the biggest buyer by acquiring spectrum worth Rs 57,122.65 crore.
In a release, the government said 855.60 MHz of airwaves were bought for Rs 77,814.80 crore in two days of auction, which concluded on Tuesday after six rounds of bidding. It had received bids of Rs 77,146 crore on the first day of spectrum auction on Monday.
