Taiwan, Indonesia seek to iron out migrant labor fee issues

Taipei, Dec. 24 (CNA) Officials from Taiwan and Indonesia will convene in two weeks to resolve disputes regarding to the recruitment costs for Indonesian migrant workers after a meeting on Wednesday left a number of issues pending, according to Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs Lin San-quei (林三貴).
The virtual meeting, attended by Indonesian officials and representatives from Taiwan s labor ministry, was held in light of a policy introduced by the Indonesian government that exempts its migrant workers from the costs they currently incur to work abroad.

New Delhi [India], December 10 (ANI): India and Qatar have agreed on institutionalising measures to promote and protect the rights of workers, including settlement of labour issues and facilitate the movement of people between the two countries, in a safe and secure manner.
This was agreed upon during the Sixth Meeting of India-Qatar Joint Committee on Labour and Manpower Development held virtually on Wednesday, according to a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss and review the entire gamut of labour and manpower cooperation related issues between the two countries, the MEA said.
