AUBURN â An Ohio man is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in the back seat of his car outside the NCG Theater in Auburn.
Owen Zeedyk, 22, of the 9100 block of Anderson Street, Mark Center, Ohio, is charged with rape, a Level 3 felony. The incident is alleged to have happened in October 2017. Charges were filed Feb. 12 in DeKalb Superior Court I, and Zeedyk was arrested on a warrant Monday.
According to an affidavit of probable cause for Zeedykâs arrest, Detective Aaron Quick said that while working for the Auburn Police Department, he was forwarded information about a sex offense that was reported in Ohio in February 2020. The case alleged a sex offense was committed against a juvenile by an adult.
AUBURN â It took a month of sleuthing, but a man wanted on a Level 3 felony rape charge in DeKalb County has been arrested in Kentucky after nearly a year on the run.
Christopher F. Johnston, 30, was arrested by Kentucky State Trooper Mark Spencer at a residence in Thelma, Kentucky, late Friday afternoon.
Johnston is going through the extradition process so he can be brought to Indiana to face the charge, according to the Indiana State Police.
A no-bond warrant was issued for Johnston on the rape charge on Feb. 27, 2020, by DeKalb County Judge Monte Brown.
According to a police affidavit of probable cause filed in DeKalb Superior Court II, Indiana State Police Detective S. Michael Carroll said he was sent to Parkview Noble Hospital on Nov. 3, 2019, in regards to an alleged rape.

Auburn man facing molestation charge

An Auburn man was arrested in DeKalb County on charges of child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor.
In October, detectives with the Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post were contacted by the Indiana Department of Child Services in Auburn and the Auburn Police Department to investigate an alleged complaint of sexual misconduct with a minor. The information alleged Clint Daniel Hess, 30, of Auburn had been engaging in sex acts with a 14-year-old girl.
The five-month investigation concluded last week and was turned over to the DeKalb County prosecutor’s office for review.
