In the news release, the NDCS said homemade weapons were recovered by staff members. The NDCS has not identified any of the inmates involved in the incident.

A staff member at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution was hurt during an assault earlier this week.
The Nebraska Department of Corrections accuses an inmate of attacking the employee after the prisoner was stopped while leaving the dining hall, punching the employee repeatedly in the face.
No names have been been released.
The Johnson County Attorney will review the reports and determine what charges, if any, will be filed.
The staff member was treated at a hospital for injuries to his face and head.

TECUMSEH, Neb. (KLKN)- On Tuesday at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI), an inmate assaulted a staff member, resulting in a serious injury.
The staff member stopped the inmate after he had left the dining hall, directing him to get rid of food he had in his pocket. The inmate refused, and then punched the staff member in the face, repeatedly.
The attack went on as another staff member told the inmate to stop. More prison personnel go to the scene and helped restrain the inmate.
