GREENSBURG – The Decatur County Community Foundation manages several endowed funds that benefit the Decatur County community.
Dr. Irwin “Doc” and Dorothy “Dot” Lanning had a long, influential history in Decatur County. And thanks to two funds they established with the Decatur County Community Foundation while they were alive, their impact in Decatur County will continue forever.
The Dr. Irwin and Dorothy Lanning Family Memorial Fund, and the Dr. Irwin and Dorothy Lanning Family Memorial Scholarship were established by a couple who were huge supporters of Decatur County and who wanted to continue making a difference in the community even after they were gone.

GREENSBURG – The Decatur County United Fund recently awarded $9,193 in grants through the $150,000 COVID-19 Economic Relief Initiative Grant.
Champions of Youth was granted $2,047 for a computer and software, printer and scanner. This will allow them to better facilitate their mentors, students, and core program.
New Directions received $7,146 for air purifiers and filters, sanitation washer, dryer and dishwasher, and desktop computer.

GREENSBURG - The Decatur County Community Foundation is pleased to introduce its new Youth Philanthropy Council members.
Beginning this May, a dozen local students will be joining the Decatur County Community Foundation to promote youth development in philanthropy and leadership. The students will focus on youth-related issues in the community.
The incoming juniors and seniors were selected via an application and interview process. The students, representing all three local high schools, include:
Greensburg High School: Lydia Acra, Rebekah Porter, Macey Smith, and Chloe Wilcox
North Decatur High School: Stephanie Morford, Reid Messer, Hannah Allen, and Carson Parmer
