BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) -Many people are mourning the loss of Decatur County Sheriffâs Office Captain Justin Bedwell.
Funeral services took place Thursday.
They started in the only way a true Star Wars fan would have it, with Darth Vaderâs anthem playing.
Seats in Centennial Field Stadium were full of many people who came to pay their final respects to the father, son, husband, friend, and officer, gone too soon.
Some of Justinâs sense of humor made its way to the podium.

DECATUR COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) â At the request of the Decatur County Sheriffâs Office, the funeral service for Captain Justin Bedwell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Centennial Field with Rev. Stephen Webb and Rev. John Thomas officiating.
The funeral will start and end at the stadium. The burial will be private.
Sheriffs from the surrounding area will be in attendance.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL) â First responders from Decatur County and Bainbridge visited Hutto Middle School to meet one sixth-grader who caught the eyes of many on Facebook following the procession of the fallen deputy who died on Monday after a shooting in Brinson two days prior.
Marquail Jones, stood at attention to honor the life of the late Captain Justin Bedwell during the entire processional that passed by Hutto Middle School on Tuesday, according to a Facebook post from the school district.
