Texas Longhorns athlete signee Ja’Tavion Sanders out of Denton Ryan High School just earned a fifth star in 247Sports’ Top247 prospect rankings. From 247Sports: “What makes Sanders a five-star prospect in 247Sports’ eyes? He’s a natural athlete and a flat-out football player with a big frame that projects to either side of the ball. As a senior, Sanders played full-time on offense and rotated as a pass-rusher on defense. He proved a consistent, dynamic playmaker from his receiver position, where the 6-foot-3 1/2, 235-pounder caught 63 passes for 1,156 yards and 16 touchdowns on more than 18 yards per catch.”

Marissa Guimbarda (OF/UTL) have been named to the Atlantic Coast Conference’s 2021 Preseason All-ACC Team, the league office announced Thursday. The preseason all-conference distinctions mark a first for the program, which enters its second season in 2021. Additionally, the Tigers were predicted to finish in sixth in the ACC standings, according to the league’s head coaches.
Cagle dominated as a true freshman for the Tigers in 2020. Having started in all 27 games last season, including 13 starts in the circle, Cagle hit .376 and was tenth in the nation in home runs (10), making her the only freshman in the country with double-digit homers.
