The National Museum of the Philippines is closer than ever to reopening its doors after 11 months of shutting out visitors due to the ongoing pandemic.
Published February 8, 2021 3:26pm Art in the Park is 15 years old this year, and to celebrate, it s going to hold an 8-day art fair online. Touted as the country s most popular affordable art fair, Art in the Park is happening from February 21 to 28 and will feature more than 6,000 artworks by hundreds of established and up-and-coming Filipino artists at no more than P50,000. Art in the Park will also continue to benefit the Museum Foundation of the Philippines in support of their projects and programs for the National Museum of the Philippines and its network.
How does it work? Starting February 21, more than 6,000 artworks from 60 exhibitors will be made available for viewing starting 10am on www.artinthepark.ph.

Born in a Blaan village in Landan, Polomok, South Cotabato, Fu Yabing started to learn the craft of Blaan traditional
mabal tabih art of ikat weaving the age of 14. To this day, her role in her community and the Philippines held a great value as she was among the two that kept the art alive. As a master weaver and dyer and bearer of an almost forgotten culture, she was honored with the National Living Treasures Award by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

Take a look at the new photos of the Metropolitan Theater (MET) released ahead of the historic Manila landmark’s reopening this 2021 in time for the Quincentennial Commemorations of the Philippines.
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) together with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) are spearheading the restoration efforts for the MET in time to host the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan and the country’s part in the first circumnavigation of the world in 1521. The quincentennial event will serve as the maiden show of the MET after 25 years since its closure in 1996.
