Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In this edition of the series of highlight exhibits being kept at the National Museum of Mongolia, we are presenting the knife that was used by one of the tallest Mongolian people in history, Gongor Purev.
Material: silver, cypress, leather
With the 12 zodiac animals and ever ugalz (horn pattern) engraved on the silver section of the cypress sheath, the knife is made of steel and has a wooden handle.
Well-known as Undur Gongor, he was born in present-day Jargalant soum, Khuvsgul aimag in the early 1880. Alongside stories about his height and strength, there are also notes written by domestic and foreign citizens as well as photography.

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In our series of highlight artifacts being kept at the National Museum of Mongolia, we are presenting the golden crown of Bilge Khaan which traces back to the VI-VIII century. It was registered in the list of invaluable cultural heritage per the Government Resolution No.124 in 2003.
Size: 9.3 cm in height, 23 cm in length, weight: 80 grams
The sacrificial site that was established following the passing of Bilge Khaan of the Turkic Khaganate in the year of 734 is located in modern-day Khashaat soum, Arkhangai aimag. During the excavation conducted by the joint Mongolian-Turkish archeological research team in 2001, various gold and silver items were discovered, one of which being this particular crown.

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. This time in our series, we are presenting the Supreme State Prize of Mongolia Erdeniin Ochir.
Material: Gold coating, sapphire, mother of pearl, blue ribbon. Size: 11.5 cm in length, 5.5 cm in width, weighs 40 grams
The Supreme State Prize of Mongolia Erdeniin Ochir was established following the declaration of independence in 1911, in aims of honoring the foreigners who made significant contribution for the country’s independence as well as having Mongolia officially recognized.
In the special set of rules established for the order, it states that the top class Erdeniin Ochir order has three classifications, with the first one being named after Chinggis Khaan, the second named after Abtai Sain Khaan, and the third named after the Undur Gegeen. For the first class of the order, pearl is embedded in the middle and the top of the order made of pure gold, alongside its yellow ribbon. The first classification
