More than 500 years ago, a
medieval soldier s dead body settled at the bottom of a Lithuanian lake, and for centuries it lay hidden beneath the mud. Now, those submerged remains have finally been found.
The skeleton was discovered during an underwater inspection of the old Dubingiai bridge in eastern Lithuania s Lake Asveja. Though the
skeleton lay under a layer of sand and silt, the scene was not a burial, said archaeologist Elena Pranckėnaitė, a researcher with Klaipėda University in Klaipėda, Lithuania,
according to the Baltic News Service (BNS). Rather, water currents likely deposited sediments that covered the remains over time.

âIt is neither easy to forecast the tourism growth this year nor how it will be during this summer season because it relies a lot on the pandemic situation,â points out EglÄ LižaitytÄ, Managing director of Lithuanian Hotel and Restaurant Association (LVRA). In KlaipÄda, tourism decreased by 70% between 2019 and 2020. This year, the city does not expect an increase in tourists.
ArtÅ«ras Petrauskas from KlaipÄda s tourism and culture information center explains, âAt the moment traveling within the country is not limited.â Nevertheless, to enter the country, some restrictions are still implemented (PCR tests and self-isolation). People that are fully vaccinated do not have to self-isolate.
Description
The National Museum of Lithuania decided, after many years, to change its visual identity, so that it wouldn t be seen as an old and boring place anymore. They wanted a campaign to announce the change and, also, to reach a younger audience. So, we decided to show the museum as a place that can give you the inspiration to make new and modern creations.
To prove it, we called three young fashion designers from Lithuania and gave them the task to create an outfit for three local and beloved celebrities, inspired by three museum s expositions. This was the result of this experiment: three modern and beautiful outfits inspired entirely in the museum.
