NBC SVG The National Emergency Management Organization NEMO has been assured that Guyana is committed to continue to work closely with the organization to assist Vincentians during this challenging time. The assurance came from Honorary Consul of Guyana to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Nigel Russell on Sunday, following the arrival at the Kingstown Port, of the second vessel of relief supplies from Guyana. Mr. Russell said Guyana is ready to support the work that NEMO is doing on the ground. He noted that persons from every sector of the society in Guyana, are contributing to the relief effort.

A release from the National Emergency Management Organization said the elderly man died on April 26 while in isolation at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Meanwhile, five new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from 32 samples processed on April 25, resulting in a positivity rate of 15.6%. Over the weekend, 10 new positive cases were reported. Six of these were reported on April 22 from 120 samples, resulting in a positivity rate of 5 percent; on April 23, four positive cases were reported from 155 samples, resulting in a positivity rate of 2.6%. No positive cases were reported from 42 samples processed on April 24.
