Maine South High School District 207 Board Honors Students for Extracurricular Activities Three seniors were honored by the Maine Township High School District 207 Board of Education for achievement in extracurricular activities. The students honored were Ramy Atia from Maine East, Jenna Daube from Maine West and Niki Manolis from Maine South. RAMY ATIA Ramy has taken a challenging schedule of courses during his time at Maine East in addition to volunteering at the Al-Azhar Islamic Foundation that is focused on bringing Islamic schools to Illinois in addition to helping younger students understand Islamic religion and culture. In the area of extracurricular activities at Maine East, he has been a three-season athlete for three years which includes basketball, volleyball and soccer. Hannah Steppe JERSEY SHORE The Jersey Shore Business and Professional Women’s Club Girl of the Month for April is Hannah Naomi Steppe, daughter of Sherry and Joe Steppe of Cogan Station. Hannah’s activities include Model UN. Homecoming committee, Paw Print, one year; National Art Honor Society, Key Club, two years; National Spanish Honor Society, three years, and FBLA and National English Honor Society, four years. During her senior year, Hannah serves as the Historian for the National Art Honor Society, Historian for the National English Honor Society, and Historian for the National Spanish Honor Society. Outside of school, Hannah works part time at Tiadaghton Embroidery.

Madison’s activities include the following: Prom Committee, National Honor Society, one year; Key Club, two years; Constitutional Convention, Yearbook, three years; Competitive Dance, FBLA, Homecoming Committee, Model UN, National English Honor Society, four years. During her freshman year, Madison served as the Historian for the FBLA program. Outside of school, Madison is a Dance Team Company Member, works at Phil-It-Up Drive In, and also works at Real Taste Taqueria.
