The immunization drive would simultaneously begin in all provinces. The development took place after the first tranche of COVID-19 vaccine reached all the federating units, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Talking to journalists, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Dr. Faisal Sultan said that 70 per cent eligible population would receive vaccination.

Govt spends Rs.3bln to eliminate locust, NA informed January 25, 2021 The National Assembly resumed its session at the parliament house in Islamabad today (Monday) with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair. The National Assembly was informed today Pakistan has become locust free country as result of effective measures taken by the government. Replying to a question during Question Hour, Parliamentary Secretary for National Food Security and Research Ameer Sultan said that locust has been eliminated from all 62 affected districts of the country. He said government has, so far, spent three billion rupees to eliminate locust. He said one billion out of that amount was provided by the Federal Government, while rest of the contribution was made by the provinces.

Efforts afoot for early availability of COVID-19 vaccine in Pakistan, NCOC told December 23, 2020 ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) was told on Wednesday that the government is in close liaison with leading COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers including those from China and regularly reviewing developments including data from Phase 3 trials. The NCOC was told that these steps will lead to a final decision about the early availability of the COVID-19 vaccine for Pakistan. Earlier in an interview with a Private News Channel, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan said that the COVID-19 vaccine would be available in Pakistan by March next.
