The Lagos State Government has said that the state is currently providing free health insurance to 40,000 residents in recognition of the economic status of many Lagosians especially the less privileged.
This is as the state has also launched a crowdfunding programme and installment payment plan, all geared towards providing access for residents and ramping up facilities in the State for effective and efficient healthcare.
This disclosure was made by the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, while speaking at the launch of Ilera Eko Day, a symbolic social campaign designed to integrate Lagos residents into the health insurance policy of the State government, on Tuesday, at LTV Blue Roof, Agidingbi, Ikeja.

Asaba, Jan. 5, 2021 Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has commended the Federal Government for the Extended Special Public Works (ESPW) programme, saying it will positively impact the state.
He gave the commendation on Tuesday in Asaba, during the flag-off of the 774,000 ESPW jobs programme of the Federal Government for the 774 Local Government Areas of the country.
Okowa was represented by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu.
He said that though each participant would be taking N20, 000 monthly stipend for the programme that would last for three months, the programme had the capacity of injecting about N500 million monthly into the state economy.

Kaduna, Jan. 5, 2021 The Federal Government’s Extended Special Public Works (ESPW), also known as the 774,000 jobs programme, has been inaugurated in Kaduna State.
The inauguration was done on Tuesday in Kaduna by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).
Naija247news reports that 774,000 unemployed Nigerians were selected across the 774 local government areas in the 36 states and the FCT for community/environment public works.
The programme was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari to reduce unemployment in the country.
In his speech at the inauguration, NDE Acting Director General, Malam Abubakar Nuhu-Fikpo, said that the directorate was totally committed and dedicated to the smooth and effective implementation of the programme.

The government said the initiative, through which the beneficiaries will be paid N20,000 each, was conceived to shield vulnerable Nigerians from poverty, hunger and joblessness.
Speaking at the ceremony, which held at the old Parade Ground, Abuja, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, explained that the initiative was meant to protect the most vulnerable Nigerians from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has on Wednesday flagged off the Extended Special Public Works (SPW) programme tagged “temporary employment of 774,000 youths across the 774 Local Government Areas in the country, and the disbursement of N20,000 to each of the beneficiaries for three months.
It would be recalled that the scheme, which entails temporary employment of 774,000 youths across the 774 Local Government Areas in the country, and the disbursement of N20,000 to each of the beneficiaries for three months, was conceived by the Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo.
The minister, who is the Chairman of the Board of the NDE, mandated the directorate to coordinate the programme, which includes selected projects nationwide.
