Amanda Gorman’s THE HILL WE CLIMB: An Inaugural Poem for the Country, a jacketed hardcover edition of her stirring presidential inaugural poem, featuring a foreword by Oprah Winfrey, has debuted at #1 on the New York Times adult fiction, USA Today, and Indie hardcover fiction bestsellers lists, with the highest week-one sales of any poetry book ever published.
The collectible, hardcover edition was published on March 30, 2021 by Viking Books in the US and Chatto & Windus in the UK. An audiobook edition, read by Amanda Gorman with foreword read by Oprah Winfrey, was published simultaneously from Penguin Audio. Amanda’s poetry is also an international success, debuting as a global bestseller in Europe, and with 20 foreign language editions planned throughout the world.

Vogue after gaining national recognition as the inaugural poet.
On Wednesday, the fashion magazine announced on social media that the 23-year-old poet had been chosen for
Vogue’s May issue, making her the first-ever poet to be featured on the cover.
“@TheAmandaGorman is our May cover star! Poet, activist, optimist, style icon - Gorman has become so much more than a literary star. Meet the phenomenon in the making,” the outlet announced on Twitter.
The issue features two covers, both of which were shot by photographer Annie Leibovitz and styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, with one featuring Gorman dressed in a bright green, orange and red Louis Vuitton Kente gown by Virgil Abloh.

Amanda Gorman, the poet who made waves at the Presidential Inauguration, turned down a heavy sum of money of an estimated $17 million in endorsement deals for a good reason.
It s no surprise Gorman has been in high demand ever since she read her poem The Hill We Climb at Biden s Inauguration and brands want to cash in on that. She s appeared at the Super Bowl, on talk shows and even magazine covers, including the May issue of Vogue.
The poet is being cautious when it comes to booking endorsement deals. These deals need to align with her values and beliefs.
