The collectible, hardcover edition was published on March 30, 2021 by Viking Books in the US and Chatto & Windus in the UK. An audiobook edition, read by Amanda Gorman with foreword read by Oprah Winfrey, was published simultaneously from Penguin Audio. Amanda’s poetry is also an international success, debuting as a global bestseller in Europe, and with 20 foreign language editions planned throughout the world.

Amanda Gorman says she’s turned down $17m in deals since inauguration Chelsea Ritschel Vogue after gaining national recognition as the inaugural poet. On Wednesday, the fashion magazine announced on social media that the 23-year-old poet had been chosen for Vogue’s May issue, making her the first-ever poet to be featured on the cover. “@TheAmandaGorman is our May cover star! Poet, activist, optimist, style icon - Gorman has become so much more than a literary star. Meet the phenomenon in the making,” the outlet announced on Twitter.  The issue features two covers, both of which were shot by photographer Annie Leibovitz and styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, with one featuring Gorman dressed in a bright green, orange and red Louis Vuitton Kente gown by Virgil Abloh.
