BUCHAREST, April 14 (Xinhua) The first shipment of 60,000 Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine doses arrived in Romania on Wednesday. Pending the conclusion of an investigation by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for possible blood clot risk, the vaccines will be stored in a warehouse, the National Coordinating Committee for Vaccination Activities against COVID-19 (CNCAV) said.
In the U.S., six blood clot cases have been reported among more than seven million people who received the shot.
This batch entered Romania via its land border with Hungary one day after the American pharmaceutical company said on Tuesday it had suspended the rollout of its vaccine in the European Union (EU).

The President of the National Coordinating Committee for Vaccination Activities against COVID-19 (CNCAV), Valeriu Gheorghita, on Friday stated in Giurgiu that he noticed a decrease in the addressability of the population for the AstraZeneca vaccine and underscored that all vaccines used in Romania are authorized by the European Medicines Agency and have proven to be safe.
He and the vice-president of the CNCAV, state secretary with the Ministry of Health Andrei Baciu, on Friday morning went to Hotarele, Giurgiu county, where they talked with the citizens scheduled for this day for vaccination and with the medical staff. The visit continued at two other active centres in Giurgiu.

A number of 103,200 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine will arrive on Thursday at the Cantacuzino National Institute for Medical-Military Development Research, informs a press release of the National Coordinating Committee for Vaccination Activities against COVID-19.
According to the quoted source, the transport is provided by the manufacturing company, and the vaccine doses will be brought to Bucharest by land.
Doses will be stored at the National Storage Center of the Cantacuzino Institute.
Thus, the vaccination process continues both in the centers in Bucharest and in the country, the doses being distributed as follows: Bucharest National Storage Center: 27,600 doses;
