Pakistan mulls deferring Covid curbs relaxation amid spike in cases

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday mulled over deferring the opening up of cinemas, indoor weddings and dinning in restaurants, which were expected to be allowed with effect from March 15, amid rising positivity trend of coronavirus with the next review to be held in the first week of April.
The NCOC meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar and flanked by National Coordinator Lieutenant General Hamood Uz Zaman Khan discussed update from the provinces on rising positivity and corresponding actions, vaccination progress and national vaccine strategy. Provincial representatives participated in the meeting through video link.

Islamabad, January 25, 2021 (PPI-OT): The NCOC has stressed for purchasing quality vaccination to ensure successful treatment of COVID-19 patients. This was directed by the forum in its today’s meeting held in Islamabad with National Coordinator Lieutenant General Hamood Uz Zaman Khan in the chair.
The forum was informed that the government would keep the record of vaccinated persons even those who travelled from abroad would have to provide a legal document confirming that they have been vaccinated. The meeting was apprised that all provinces have almost completed the training of the staff of teaching hospitals, Tehsil and District Head Quarters Hospitals regarding Covid-19 vaccination for swift inoculation of the vaccine.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Monday was apprised that the provinces have almost completed the training of the staff of Teaching Hospitals, Tehsil, and District Head Quarters (DHQs) Hospitals regarding COVID-19 vaccination for swift inoculation of the vaccine.
The NCOC meeting with the National Coordinator Lieutenant General Hamood Uz Zaman Khan in the chair discussed updates from the provinces on positivity and critical data, non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs or alternate measures to treat COVID other than medical treatment) implementation, preparations for vaccine inoculation, and national vaccine strategy.
