Your next car will probably be an electric pickup truck

Electric vehicles might finally find mainstream acceptance hitching their wagon to pickups Published:  December 14, 2020 17:02 Bloomberg The lynchpin to GM s $27 billion plan to roll out 30 new electric models by 2025 is the least likely of suspects: the second coming of the military-style, gas-chugging Hummer 1 SUV that first debuted in 1992. Image Credit: Supplied A suggestion for auto advertisers: Nix the hard hats. Tone down the falling lumber, avalanches of boulders and slow-motion suspension sag as a super-sized truck bed swallows all that dreck. Cowboy cosplay never gets old and certainly sells some trucks, but we just don t work that tough - at least not the majority of the 2.5 million Americans who bought a pickup truck last year. The rig has largely taken the place of the minivan, the sedan and pretty much everything in between. It s even hauling off a hunk of the SUV market.

Marine Infrastructure Investments in Nova Scotia

Marine Infrastructure Investments in Nova Scotia December 14, 2020 - 11:21 AM Working waterfronts are important social and economic infrastructure across the province. They add value to local economies and communities and attract boaters and visitors by sea. That is why today, Dec. 14, Develop Nova Scotia, along with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), the Municipality of the County of Victoria and the Village of Baddeck announced investments of close to $1.2 million to build and improve shared-access marine infrastructure in Baddeck. Develop Nova Scotia will also invest $85,000 in flexible floating docks in Mahone Bay. Both investments will help grow ocean-related sectors and preserve the public’s access to the water’s edge.

There will be a sort of show season around Chicago outdoors, but changes come and the focus shifts toward spring or 2022

Dale Bowman The pandemic will break the Chicago tradition of attending outdoor shows in winter. In the Chicago Boat Show, that tradition goes back 90 years. I think the break, at least for the months of January and February, is the only sane response. Frankly, it will probably take months longer. When I checked with a show salesman with decades of experience on status of various shows, he messaged, “Any show organizer that is still planning a show is clearly consumed by greed.” Or in denial of the deadliness of the pandemic in the United States. On the good side, creative thinkers are reconsidering their options for attending or doing shows. After the pandemic, there will be changes. I even think the concept of show going with thousands packing enclosed buildings may be rethought.
