U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales Howard questioned attorneys for close to two hours before saying she’d decide later whether to issue an injunction in the lawsuit filed last month by Hamilton County farmer Scott Wynn.
The lawsuit by Wynn, who is white, argued that payments up to 120 percent of farmers’ debt on loans that are from the U.S. Department of Agriculture or backed by it use race alone to decide who gets help.
