Halina’t maki-Sining!’
For many Filipino artists, February goes beyond just the Heart’s Month. Under Presidential Proclamation no. 683, the Philippines recognizes its culture and art in different forms with the celebration of the annual National Arts Month every February. And half-way through January, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is already gearing up for a month of artistic festivities, starting with its theme.
This 2021, National Arts Month, also called
Ani ng Sining, plays with the theme “
Alab-sining, Alay-sigla,” which aims to provide opportunities for artists to harness their creative energies in uplifting the nation’s spirit, especially during this time of public health crisis.
