National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad has filed a defamation suit against the Fiji Sun, it’s Publisher Peter Lomas and Editor Jyoti Pratibha regarding an article titled “Pants on fire? Biman caught out twice.” Prasad is claiming that the article which said that he had said that all civil servants pay should be reduced by 35 percent, was false and defamatory. He says he has suffered loss and damages because of this and still continues to do so.

He spoke to us just before his flight took off to Brisbane, Australia at 10.30am. Ahluwalia and his wife, Sandra Price, were detained this morning by Police and Immigration officials and declared Prohibited Immigrants under the Immigration Act with immediate effect.
