Before tipoff against Concordia (Moorhead), as they awaited the national anthem, Sinn and her team listened intently as the public address announcer read a statement. The MIAC and the University of St. Thomas would like to recognize that the American experience has not been the same for everyone under the flag, it said. As we continue the fight for equality and justice for all, we now invite you to respectfully express yourself for the playing of our national anthem.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the more than 5,000 coaches from all levels who are part of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Started more than 25 years ago it is a nationwide effort to increase cancer awareness, promote healthy living and raise money for research, education, programs in the community and more.
Since its inception Coaches vs. Cancer has raised some $40 million to help eliminate cancer as a life-threatening disease. While most of the fundraising events are held through colleges there are a number of high school basketball coaches who also participate.

January 28 - According to Dan Genzler of USF, the games on January 29-30 involving No. 19 University of Sioux Falls Men s Basketball and Minnesota State, Mankato at the Bresnan Arena in Mankato, Minn., have been adjusted due to COVID-19 testing protocols. The original schedule called for USF-MSU to play games on January 29-30 but due to testing protocols, the schedule has been adjusted to play one day at 2 pm, Sunday, January 31 at Mankato, Minn., contingent on testing protocols.
